Base Materials- Gravel that generally contains dust to help the material set up and get hard. While these materials set up the hardest and are generally the cheapest, the dust will typically blow in the wind and track on your feet or tires. 

Clean Materials- Gravel that contains little to no dust, and is used for driving on already-hard ground, drainage, and decoration. These materials are generally more expensive.
